Deerhunter/Atlas Sound's Bradford Cox has composed the original score for the documentary Teenage, which is about the invention of the teenager and youth culture, from the late 19th century to the early 20th century. The soundtrack is out digitally on March 11 via Cinereach Music, and the film is in select theaters starting March 14.
Teenage was directed by Matt Wolf, who also did the beloved Arthur Russell doc Wild Combination, and was written by Jon Savage, based on his book Teenage. (Savage also wrote the punk history England's Dreaming and co-edited the book Punk: An Aesthetic.) It features narration by Jena Malone (Catching Fire, Donnie Darko), Ben Whishaw (Skyfall, Cloud Atlas), Julia Hummer, and Jessie Usher.
